Celebrating Nursing Home Week
May 20, 2022
French Creek brought National Nursing Home Week to an end last Friday! We had TONS of fun celebrating our residents and staff this year. The theme this year was, “Creating and Nurturing Through Connections." French Creek provides an incredible and steadfast commitment to ensuring the quality of care and life for our residents. This year’s theme celebrates the role that our staff plays in creating and nurturing connections for our residents.
Each day we had something fun and special planned with a little bit of meaning behind it all. On Monday, we had a “Wok and Roll" Day. Our staff dressed up in our Rock n’ Roll attire, and our residents enjoyed Chinese food from Panda Express. Everyone played a game of '80s Music Hits Bingo together, and Chef Paul made some delicious Chinese food for our staff. On Tuesday, we created connections by having a Graduation Day. Everyone was able to relive their memories through an accomplishment that many of them have made. We enjoyed eating cake as our staff represented their school colors!

On Wednesday, we created connections through nature, and we had our residents plant vegetables. After planting, everyone enjoyed a fruit and vegetable tray! Thursday was by far the BEST day! Our staff and residents created connections by playing games like Minute to Win it. Everyone had tons of fun on the last day too. On Friday, we created connections by sharing a meal together. Our residents baked their very own mini pizzas to eat, and our staff ate their pizza with them!
The Woods on French Creek couldn’t be successful without our wonderful staff, and we had so much fun recognizing their hard work and dedication to our residents. Every day, we try to live by appreciating each and every person on the team, and it made our hearts full to put together a fun week for them.
Happy National Nursing Home Week! Check out our Facebook page to see more photos from the week!
