Celebrating the “Tapestry of Life” During National Nursing Home Week

Each year during National Nursing Home Week, The Woods on French Creek takes time to celebrate the heart and soul of our community—our residents, our staff and the families who surround them. This special week is more than a celebration—it’s a reflection of the compassion, commitment and connection that make our nursing home a true home.



This year’s theme from The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is “Tapestry of Life” highlighting the interconnected stories and experiences of residents, family and staff. The theme encourages organizations to honor the relationships and moments that create a strong, united tapestry of care and compassion. From veterans and teachers to artists, parents, and entrepreneurs, our residents represent generations of resilience and inspiration. Every smile, every shared memory and every moment of kindness is part of what makes our community shine!

Throughout the week, we’re honoring that spirit with a variety of fun and meaningful events, including:

• Matching t-shirts designed by our residents very own handprints.
• Ice Cream Truck to bring loved ones together.
• Entertainment such as the Petting Zoo and Magician show to fill our halls with energy and joy.
• Staff Appreciation Events, because our dedicated staff are the everyday heroes who make it all possible!

Nursing Home Week is also a time to reflect on the work we do and WHY we do it. Providing skilled nursing care isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling. Our mission is to provide dignity, quality of life and comfort to those we serve. To our staff, thank you for your tireless dedication and the warmth you bring to every resident. To our residents, thank you for the trust you place in us and the incredible stories you share. You are the reason we do what we do.
