Saluting Our Veterans
November 15, 2022
On Saturday, November 12th, The Woods on French Creek was humbled to host a Veterans Day celebration and pinning ceremony for our veteran residents and community. We welcomed over 30 people from the community to honor 12 of our residents who served. We were also happy to welcome Mayor Bryan Jensen and two of Avon's finest police officers.

Sally Tomko, with Hospice of the Western Reserve, along with her vocalist and veteran, Bob & Barb Smith, presented a wonderful and powerful program honoring all those that have and currently serve in our military.
Troop 287 out of Lakewood, Ohio, joined the celebration and performed a drill sequence for our attendees. For the troop's kindness to volunteer, Foundations Health Solutions presented them with a $500 donation towards their once-in-a-lifetime trip to the elite Philmont Experience in 2023. Eight young men were picked for this experience, and they were so humbled and appreciative of the donation.

We would like to thank so many generous people for their contributions to this event! Thank you to Sally Tomko, with Hospice of the Western Reserve, and Hailey, Dale and Paul at French Creek for providing a beautiful space and meal. Paul, our Chef and Dietary Manager, made a homemade Navy bean soup that was delicious and very fitting for the honored men and women of our Armed Services.
We thank the men and women who have served our country for generations and those who continue to serve today. Your bravery, sacrifice, and strength do not go unnoticed.
We'd like to extend a big thank you to our friends at The Village Newspaper for covering our “Peaceful & Proud” program. You can read their article by clicking the button below.
